Men's and Women's Groups

The Ladies Friendly Circle is a women's group that meets on first and third Thursday evenings (September - May) for a time of fellowship, craft works, and occasional outings. The group was initially started in 1886 to help fund the construction of the new church, which was completed in 1888. The group continues to raise funds for the church's various projects. All women are invited to come to a meeting, as there is no church membership requirement. The ladies put on a big Holiday Bazaar each November.

Each year, a contingency of our ladies attends the Women of Faith Conference.

Additionally, women of the church meet on alternate first Saturdays to serve the Mercy Meals breakfast in New Bedford. They also schedule an occasional breakfast here at the Parish House. Call Chris Paiva for details: 508-763-4169

All adult males are invited to meet at 8:00 A.M. one Saturday of each month for light breakfast, fellowship, prayer, Bible study and discussion. The occasional junket or expedition is to be expected. Meet in the Parish House. In addition, the men serve the Mercy Meals breakfast in New Bedford on alternate first Saturdays. Call Pastor Don for details: 508-763-3685.

Morning Bible Study and Ecumenical Opportunities

Every Wednesday morning at 9AM, bring your NIV Bible to the Lawrence House and share coffee, fellowship and Scripture insights.

During Lent, we join with many other local churches to explore the meaning of the Season of Preparation by sharing teachings and fellowship in the various churches.

Fellowship Events

Each year, the congregation gathers for meals and other fellowship events. In the past, we have worshipped at Cathedral of the Pines in New Hampshire, Memorial Hall in Plymouth, and are considering a Sunday junket to worship in the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs. We have an annual meeting in January that is preceded by a wonderful Soup and Sandwich Pot-Luck supper; Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper; nearly annual Meat Pie Supper, Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinners, Old Fashioned Weenie Roasts with sing-a-longs;  We host a "Trick or Trunk" event every Halloween for the safety of our children. We often gather for Christmas Caroling and other seasonal activities. Our church is small enough to function as an extended family, yet diverse enough to celebrate various cultural influences!
