All women are invited to come to a meeting, as there is no church membership requirement. Most years, a contingency of our ladies attend the Women of Faith Conference.
Each year, the congregation gathers for meals and other fellowship events. In the past, we have worshipped at Cathedral of the Pines in New Hampshire, Memorial Hall in Plymouth, and are considering a Sunday junket to worship in the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs.
We have an annual meeting in January that is preceded by a wonderful Soup and Sandwich Pot-Luck supper; Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper; nearly annual Meat Pie Supper, Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinners, Old Fashioned Weenie Roasts with sing-a-longs.
We have hosted "Trick or Trunk" events on Halloween for the safety of our children. We often gather for Christmas Caroling and other seasonal activities.
Chicken BarBeQue - One of the big community events of the summer that the church puts on is our Chicken Barbecue. For just a few dollars, folks enjoy a moist tender barbecued half-chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, cranberry sauce, beverage and dessert! It all happens in the outdoor splendor of the Pine Grove adjacent to the old East Freetown Fire Station.
Our church is small enough to function as an extended family, yet diverse enough to celebrate various cultural influences!
